Join our orienteering courses & workshops this November!
This November, Scottish Orienteering has a wide range of courses and workshops available to help you build your skills in orienteering, and to help others improve. Read on for what we have available this month.
UKCC Level 2 Coach (L2C) – November 2nd & 3rd – Glasgow
- Mugdock Visitor Centre, Nr Milngavie, Glasgow
Aimed at capable orienteers with some coaching experience, this course can make you a Level 2 coach, who understands about progressing skills from one session to the next, using different areas and refinements to make each session useful to a range of participants, and more.
Workshop on Orienteering for Youngsters with Autism – November 16th – Elgin
- Levenmouth Academy, Fife
This workshop, on orienteering for youngsters with autism and related additional support needs, will help you explore how orienteering can be used positively to support youngsters on the autistic spectrum and how the sport can be marketed to encourage participation by this group.
Controllers Grade C course – November 23rd – Linlithgow AND Elgin
- Location 1: Linlithgow, LowPort Centre
- Location 2: Roseisle Village Hall, Roseisle, Elgin
We’re running two controller courses on the same day – one in the Central Belt and one in the North. Attending either one of these one-day practical courses will qualify you to control grade C events.
Tutor Foundation Course – November 30th – Nairn
- Nairn Community Centre
This new initiative is a non-qualification course aimed at members with Level 1 and above coaching. Successful completion will give members the certificate to deliver IntrO and Scottish Orienteering Young Leader tutoring.
Scottish Level 1 Coach (L1C) – Nov 30th & Dec 1st – Glasgow
- Mugdock Visitor Centre, Nr Milngavie, Glasgow
Intended for capable orienteers, this is a high-quality coaching qualification for capable orienteers who have attended the Coaching Foundation course. It can give you skills enabling you to run single sessions, as well as a fully accredited SQA qualification.
