Scottish success at CompassSport Cup Final
Three Scottish Clubs travelled to Pippingford Park in the Ashdown Forest, West Sussex, on Sunday October 20th, to compete in this year’s CompassSport Cup Final, with one claiming a clear victory.
In the Trophy – for small clubs – were 2018 winners Interløpers and Tayside, while Forth Valley Orienteers held up Scottish honours in the Cup (for large clubs) .
Both Interløpers and Tayside took fairly small teams and scored well to come third and ninth respectively, with INT’s top three position seeing them just eleven points behind winners Harlequins Orienteering Club.
FVO were the Scottish stars, with a clear victory ahead of strong opposition, including course wins for Graham Gristwood, Grace Molloy, Lizzie Stansfield and James Hammond.
FVO will hope to defend the trophy in Sutton Park, Birmingham next year, assuming successful navigation through the Scottish ‘eliminator’ in March next year, being organised by STAG.
