Safeguarding – Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sports (CWPS)
This communication follows on from the recent one sent out to SOA coaches about the new requirement of coaches to complete a course on Safeguarding in order to achieve a Licence to Coach.
This course has 2 steps both of which must be completed for an SOA coach to be qualified in their Safeguarding training.
These are:
Complete the SportScotland elearning module on Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport. This takes about 45 minutes. Access to the Module 1 course materials can be gained by clicking on this link: https://sportscotland.info/childwellbeing/v4/index.html
Attend and complete the tutor led 3 hour training: this is normally face to face training but it is currently being delivered online. Attendance at one of the three hour tutor led sessions normally involves payment of a course fee but 4 sessions are being run in February and March 2021 are free. The number of attendees is limited to 20 people at each session, so the early birds will get their session of choice.
