Scottish Junior Cup 2022 – Encouraging junior participation

Following the success of the Scottish Junior Cup during 2021 covid restrictions, and as part of the drive to encourage and maintain junior participation in the sport, the Scottish Junior Cup returns for 2022.

The Scottish Junior Cup consists of three rounds with each Scottish area (East, West and North) responsible for organising one event.  This year’s events, held in conjunction with other junior focussed weekends to avoid calendar congestion, consist of:

Round 1 – Sunday 19th June – Moncreiffe Hill –  the Jamie Stevenson Trophy

Round 2 – Sunday 4th September – Grandtully –  Junior Inter- Area Individual competition

Round 3 – 9th October – Creag Dhubh – SOL6 and the Junior Home Internationals

Results from each race will count towards an overall league for each age class, with all three races to count for final positions.

Having junior focussed events and encouraging juniors from different clubs to get to know each other is seen as an essential part of maintaining and growing junior participation.

We are very grateful to SCOTJOS supported by TAY for organising the Jamie Stevenson Trophy, the Scottish West Area Training Squad (SWAT) for planning the Junior Inter-Areas and BASOC with support from North area parents for enabling these events to take place.
