Mar Orienteering Club’s Jon Musgrave was awarded the 2019 Scottish Orienteering Association President’s Medal at the SOA AGM in Bo’Ness on 22 June, for his outstanding achievements organising orienteering events in Scotland.

We will be hosting an EGM this year on Sunday 22 September to coincide with the SOL and VHI events. Please put the date in your diary, more details to follow.

Scottish Orienteering’s quarterly magazine, SCORE, is in search of a new Editor to take over after the September issue. As current Editor, Sheila Reynolds, approaches three years as Editor, she has decided it’s time for her to hand over to someone else for the next leg.

Scottish Orienteering has become a signatory of Scotland’s Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity and Sport, which aims to make physical activity and sport more accessible to people with mental health problems, from grassroots groups to professional clubs.

The Scottish Orienteering Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Youth Annual General Meeting are scheduled to take place as part of the Sprint Scotland event at Bo’ness on Saturday 22^nd June, and the SOA is keen to answer some questions we have received.

In response to membership input and as part of the evolution of the SOA, the board is commissioning an SOA Competitions Calendar Review. This will be undertaken as a fixed period, paid, contracted work package.

The 2019 Scottish Orienteering Association Annual General Meeting will take place at Bo’ness Academy, as part of the Sprint Scotland event on Saturday 22nd June, and you can now download minutes from the 2018 meeting plus the booklet for the 2019 meeting, which includes details on how members can vote.

The Scottish Orienteering Association is looking for nominations and applications for four key roles – a President, a Board Chair, Secretary and a Director of Performance and a secretary.
