The VHI races this year will take place in Wales on the weekend of 1st and 2nd of October. We are excited to announce those selected to represent Scotland at the event. Thank you to the team selectors, congratulations to those selected and good luck in October!
The review of the Performance Pathway for 16-18 year olds resulted in the creation of 3 Super-Regional squads – North, South and Scotland. Last week the 3 squads met together for the 1st time for a training camp in the Lakes.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Fanni Gyurko (FVO) as performance director for the Scottish Orienteering Association. The board has unanimously agreed to co-opt Fanni until this year’s AGM when she will stand for election by the membership.
Following the article in the most recent edition of Score, a number of members have expressed concerns regarding anti-doping rules and how they may be impacted. To allay these fears and answer any questions, Tim O’Donoghue, our lead Anti-Doping Officer, is hosting a meeting on Zoom on Wed 5th Jan at 7.30. Please register using the Google form.

Following a highly successful year, Megan Keith (INVOC) has been awarded the accolade of Scottish Young Sportswoman of the Year at the Scottish Women in Sport awards ceremony last week.
There was lots of orienteering action this weekend, with another terrific victory for Scotland at the Junior Inter Regional Orienteering Championships in rainy Sheffield – see separate report.
This year’s Scottish Spring and Sprint Scotland events have
helped raise more than £4,000 to help the Scottish Junior Orienteering and
Scottish Elite Development Squads.
Saturday saw the conclusion of this year’s World Orienteering Championships. The first World Championships since the sprint events had been separated off, it took place in southern Norway near the border with Sweden.
