Summer Job Opportunities – Expression of Interest

Scottish Orienteering is keen to help facilitate opportunities for youngsters to try out orienteering at summer camps in various locations around Scotland, especially in the lead up to WOC 2024 in Edinburgh. To help make this happen we need a team of people who are interested in paid coaching work over the summer to get involved with delivery of the activities. No specific coaching qualifications or prior experience of delivery are necessary as we would help get you trained up with the relevant skills.

At this stage we are seeking expressions of interest in paid coaching work, from students and other young orienteers especially. Interested applicants should at least have knowledge and undertanding of the sport from a participation perspective. The time commitment could involve anything from 1 week of delivery to a full summer programme. Longer term opportunities to get involved with coaching junior orienteering squads may also be available subsequently.

It is anticipated that session delivery at summer camps would be undertaken with the support of partners from Active Schools, Outdoor Learning or other Local Authority leisure staff.
