Coaching Foundation – Blended learning ( Additional course)

An initial course for orienteers who are interested in coaching. This course will give you the foundations and get you on the pathway to becoming a coach. This delivery was scheduled for ELO but there are spaces for additional learners. You would need to arrange you own practical session but would receive support from your tutors/club to do so.
Run mostly online, with a practical club supported element, this course will be held over 4 sessions. Sessions 1,2 & 4 online 1.5 hrs, session 3 club based practical session. Dates for the 3 online sessions are 21 Mar, 28th Mar, 25 Apr. Practical session by negotiation with club mentor.
This is a pre-requisite for the Level 1 coaching course.
INTENDED FOR:
People with knowledge of orienteering, who are interested in trying their hand at coaching; also useful for qualified coaches in need of a refresher.
USUAL DURATION:
A series of online sessions plus practical club based home learning over one month period – total 6 hours contact time.

Competent orienteers at least at TD3; age 16+

This course is a pre-requisite for the Level 1 Coach course; you might apply to go straight to Level 2 after this course.
