This year it will be best five events which count.

With the first event of the season being located in Edinburgh, unsurprisingly the Edinburgh and close clubs performed well. In the Large Clubs Senior section, Forth Valley Orienteers (FVO) took a small lead over Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club (ESOC) with Interlopers Orienteering Club (INT) not far behind! In the Small Clubs Senior section, Edinburgh University Orienteering Club (EUOC) managed to take the lead despite organising the event but St Andrew’s of Glasgow Orienteering Club (STAG) are not far behind and Roxburgh Reivers (RR) also had a great turn out.

In the Large Clubs junior section, FVO again took the initial lead but ESOC are again not far behind but this time East Lothian Orienteers (ELO) took the third spot. In the Small Clubs junior section, Tayside Orienteering Club (TAY) and RR managed to get their juniors out and managed first and second place respectively.

Well done to everyone who made the event and thanks to EUOC (Jim Bailey and Fiona Eades to name but a few) with the support of the Edinburgh Clubs for a great event. Links to great photos taken by Michael Philp and Crawford Lindsey can be found via the ESOC website and please consider donating a cup of coffee to Michael Philp if you like your photo who as a non orienteer spent 2 cold days enjoying the delights of Edinburgh.
