Coaching Courses this Spring

Would you like to help others to improve their orienteering? This spring, Scottish Orienteering has several courses available to teach you to use your skills and experience in orienteering to help and encourage others. Read on for what we have available.

Young Coach Assistant – 3rd Feb, Stirling and 11th Feb, Glenmore Lodge, Aviemore

A course designed for youngsters, 14 +, to become assistant coaches.  A short online theory session is followed by a full day engaging in fun practical exercises.

Club Coach Course – 19th Feb – 28th March

Intended for capable orienteers, this is the first coaching qualification for those who have previously attended the Coaching Foundation or Young Leaders/Young Coach Assistant course. It will give you the skills and knowledge to run single sessions, as well as a fully accredited SQA qualification.

Coaching Foundation – 15th April – 10th May

A toe on the coaching ladder, this is an initial course run over 3 online sessions with an unassessed practical to equip you to help licenced coaches to run their sessions.
