Coaching & Volunteering Thank You

My name is Denise Martin and as the Volunteering Officer for Scottish Orienteering I’d like to thank all our coaches and volunteers for the great work you do for the sport in Scotland!

It is all of you who make it happen – from parents, to event officals, to board members, to our dedicated athletes of all ages. THANK YOU for your continued dedication. You are what makes orienteering in Scotland Great!

A belated Happy New Year to all! I was fortunate to spend my New Years’ at the Geographic South Pole. The champagne was very chilled!

2020 has a magical ring to it and I am most certain the year will be full of success stories. A quick reflection of 2019 shows a year full of well-run and equally well attended events.

I would like to add a few important acknowledgements:  to the newly certificates coaches and those working on Level 2, well done!  To our new members, thank you for joining and to the clubs, thank you for keeping your momentum high and your members engaged.

As the Volunteer Officer for Scottish Orienteering, I find this role difficult to pin down as it encompasses such a wide range of elements. I would appreciate anyone who can take the time to follow this link to a short survey. From the survey, I will use your comments and ideas to identify how best to support our large volunteer sector of Scottish Orienteering. Thank you in advance and all the best to everyone in 2020.     Denise Martin Coaching and Volunteer Officer, SOA
