Final Results are in for the 2022 Inter-Club Championship!

Well winter has arrived, and caused the last event of the 2022 Inter-Club Championships to be cancelled, but it did not stop our volunteer, Steve Scott, preparing the final Inter- Club Championship tables of 2022. See all the details in  2022 Scottish Inter Club Championship Table

Scottish Inter Club Championship Senior Trophies

This year, Forth Valley Orienteering Club (FVO) have won both the senior and junior large club competition, with Roxburgh Reivers (RR) claiming the small clubs senior competition and East Lothian Orienteers (ELO) taking the small clubs junior competition.

The small clubs division saw an epic battle, with four clubs (ELO, RR, STAG and TAY) all vying for the small clubs senior competition lead during the year.  ELO and TAY fell off the pace as the season progressed, and RR moved clear of STAG in the closing weeks.  There was some consolation for ELO, as they secured the junior small clubs title by a comfortable margin from Loch Eck Orienteering Club (ECKO).

In the senior large club competition, Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club (ESOC) took an early lead at the beginning of the year but FVO overtook them after the Scottish Championships in May, and moved out to a 15,000 point lead which proved too tough to overcome and ESOC remained in second position.  Despite a late season charge by Interlopers Orienteering Club ( INT), Moravian Orienteering Club (MOR) hung on to claim 3rd place.

FVO held off MAR Orienteering Club (MAROC) in the junior large club competition, with MOR again taking third spot.  For those interested in the detail, both FVO and MOR each placed six athletes in the top 20 juniors this year.

This is the first year that the Scottish Inter-Club Competition has been run in the format and we are looking for feedback to help us refine the competition.  Which events or how many should count, how many runs should count, do we need to make sure there is an even geographical spread of events?  Any comments or suggestions gratefully received.  Please direct any feedback to either Steve Scott at fixtures@scottish-orienteering.org or Nikki Howard at nikki@scottish-orienteering.org before 31st December.
