Sea SICC

The Scottish Inter-Clubs Championship table is taking shape following the Dark ‘n’ Dunes Weekend, which saw the first championship event of the season, the Scottish Nights Championship at Braid Hills, followed by the opening round of the Scotish Orienteering League at a windswept Gullane Dunes.

Gullane Dunes played host to the first round of the 2022 Scottish Orienteering League

ESOC continues to lead the way in the Large Clubs division, and has now extended its lead to nearly 20,000 points. FVO and INT are locked in battle for second place, with INT moving ahead after the Night event, only for FVO to peg them back in daylight.

ELO tops RR in the Small Clubs division, with STAG in third place, but KFO has established itself in 4th position, remarkable in that they only have seven counters in play at present.

Club and individual league tables after six rounds can be found here

ESOC Leads the Inter-Club Championships after four rounds

The Edinburgh-based club is taking advantage of the early rounds of the championship being in their local area, and a large contingent of their members in regular action is racking up the points for their total. FVO remains in second place in the Large Clubs competition, and Interlopers has overtaken MAROC for third place.

In the Small Clubs division, ELO maintains its place at the top of the table, but it was a good weekend for Roxburgh Reivers as they closed ELO’s lead to within 4000 points, and STAG, who have overtaken TAY for third place.

There’s a new leader in the Junior Inter-Clubs Championship, as FVO has bypassed MAROC to take the lead, while ELO leads the Small Clubs competition

League standings after four events can be found here, with individual scores for all competitors now included.

The fifth and sixth rounds of the championships will take place this weekend, as ESOC plays host once again, with the Scottish Night Championships at Braid Hills, followed by the first round of the Scottish Orienteering League, with Interlopers hosting at Gullane.

Summer Job Opportunities – Expression of Interest

Scottish Orienteering is keen to help facilitate opportunities for youngsters to try out orienteering at summer camps in various locations around Scotland, especially in the lead up to WOC 2024 in Edinburgh. To help make this happen we need a team of people who are interested in paid coaching work over the summer to get involved with delivery of the activities. No specific coaching qualifications or prior experience of delivery are necessary as we would help get you trained up with the relevant skills.
