World Orienteering Week runs from Wednesday 15th May to Tuesday 21st May and schools, clubs and groups across Scotland have registered “World Orienteering Day” events with the aim of breaking a world record and getting new people into the sport.

Scots earn podiums at World School Championships in Orienteering

Last week the World School Championships in Orienteering took place in Otepaa, Estonia. The team had a fantastic week, with some really solid results that bode well for the future, especially as many of the youngsters are in the younger year of the 2-year age category.

“Tour de force” for Scottish clubs at British Orienteering Championships

The 2019 British Orienteering Championships were a “tour de
force” in Yorkshire for many of Scotland’s clubs and individuals, who headed
south for championships based around Bradford, Leeds and the Yorkshire Dales.

The SOA Board have concluded that, to continue building the
sport of orienteering in Scotland, we need to increase income to support the costs
of running quality orienteering and we will be tabling a proposal to do this at
the AGM. We realise this is a contentious subject and would like to get
feedback from you beforehand.

Scottish team heads to World Schools Championships
