2019 has got off to a positive start as we have welcomed Fran Britain to our SOA staff team as Administrative Assistant. Fran will work from our office at Glenmore Lodge on a 2 day a week basis and will be the contact point for membership enquiries from clubs moving forward.

Terry O’Brien receives BEM in New Year Honours

Scottish Orienteering congratulates Terence John O’Brien on his award of the British Empire Medal (BEM) for “services to Orienteering”.  Terry O’Brien as he is better known has of course been the driving force behind STAG for many years and served on the SOA Board in multiple roles.  A link to the Queen’s New Year Honours list in Scotland is here. Strathearn 2019 embargos in place

With the Scottish 6 Days set to take place in Strathearn in 2019, orienteers are reminded that all the areas for next year’s event are embargoed for orienteering.  This is especially important for the two areas that will stage the World Ranking Events – Dundurn & Cnoc a’Mhadaidh (Middle Distance) and Craig a Barns (Long Distance).
