Each hub exists to serve its own local community, so there is no standard formula dictating how each hub should operate. There are common goals: growth in participation, engagement with the local community & bringing people together. Some hubs have a physical base (often within a community leisure centre or school), whilst others exist virtually, stretching out over huge rural areas. Most regions have a Community Sports Hub Officer who oversees a group of hubs and keeps everything ticking along.

Aberdeen University Orienteering Club (AUOC) welcomes you to take part in its first ever major orienteering event on Sunday 27th November. And we are going BIG! We offer our competitors a 100 (or 50) control point race based around the Aberdeen University campus.

The Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund has awarded Tayside Orienteers £300 in their weekly round for community funding. Voting took place online and Tayside won the People’s Choice award for most votes last week. Galaxy give five donations weekly, with four chosen by a panel of judges, and one voted in by the public.
Scottish Orienteering has been offered a complimentary fourball at the Macdonald Spey Valley Golf & Country Club (to be played before end April 2017). Coffee and bacon roll included.
The national British Orienteering Coaching Conference is a biennial event; the next one takes place over the weekend of 14th and 15th January 2017. The location is Crewe (at the Crewe Campus of Manchester Metropolitan University, a short walking distance from the train station).
He helped at many events and contributed as an organiser (at the Scottish 6 days), planner of SOLs and SoSOLs and controller of many events. He travelled throughout the country to compete: Cannock Chase, Epping, the New Forest, The Lakes, Wales (Croesco ’88) and Cornwall. He also went to the Swedish O-Ringen (’84). His best result was 4th at the British Championships in 1984, but other highlights included contributing to the winning of the CompassSport Trophy in 1996 and competing in the VHI in Pembrey 1990.

The finest area in East Lothian featuring an extensive series of open and forested coastal dunes between Aberlady and Dirleton, remapped from LiDaR with sections new to orienteering. We have access to Archerfield Estate, the exclusive new golf course.

Newly remapped and derhodoed, with a complex ride network unchanged since the original 1755 map.
