Senior Home International 2019 Report

Scotland claimed wins in the men’s open and women’s relay at the 2019 Senior Home International, which took place in Wales on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th September, hosted by Swansea Bay Orienteering Club.

The Home Internationals pit orienteers from across the UK and Ireland against each other with individual and relay competitions. The competition features teams of 18, with six athletes from each of W21 and M21 and three from each of W20 and M20.

Graham Gristwood claimed individual victory for Scotland in the M21 class, helping Scotland to win the course by more than twice the margin second-placed England had over third-placed Ireland.

In W21, Megan Carter-Davies took the win for Wales ahead of Scottish duo Grace Molloy and Laura Robertson but England’s 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th place runners were enough for England to claim the course win.

Scotland claimed another win in the women’s relay, with Laura Robertson, Emma Wilson and Grace Molloy taking victory, with third placed the best result for a Scottish team in the men’s relay, behind two English teams.
