SOL and SOUL 2021 Trophies

After missing out in 2020 we are delighted to announce that SOL and SOUL trophies will be presented early in 2022 from the results of the 2021 series. Read on to find out the winners and a full list of results for the leagues this year. We would like to thank all the volunteers who made the events happen and a special thanks to Paul Hammond, Pat Squire and Richard Oxlade for their work behind the scenes collating events and results.

Scottish Orienteering League 2021 (SOL)

Many thanks to the clubs who put on the 4 SOLs this year at Craig a Barns, Balmedie, Glen Tanar and Lossie Forest.

We originally said that there were insufficient events to count towards an overall league in 2021, but it has now been decided that we should award the trophies this year.

As with all things in 2021 this is one of those on-balance decisions. We recognise that some competitors may have adjusted their plans and made an effort to travel if they’d known in advance. One of the events wasn’t just a SOL but also the Scottish Championships, and Balmedie was a Middle Distance. However, we think counting 3 out of 4 SOLs is reasonable and after no league in 2020 we think it’s positive to recognise our top orienteers in 2021, especially our juniors.

SOL Results can be found here

We will award the trophies at SOL1 (Gullane) in February. Fingers crossed for some good weather!

Scottish Orienteering Urban League 2021 (SOUL)

Pat Squire has kindly calculated SOUL results and has produced a list of prize winners. The SOUL prizegiving will take place at the EUOC Big Weekend in January.  Congratulations to all the SOUL prizewinners of 2021
