Volunteer week – Day 5

Today features some key contributors that Forth Valley Orienteers have highlighted as members who are helping their club continue to flourish.

Young leaders have been stepping up to their new responsibilities – Sam Hunt and Grace Polwart supporting the FVO Stars coaching, with Sam also planning events, and Scarlett Kelly organising events.

Sam, Scarlett and Grace showing us how it’s done.

Andy Llewellyn – for successfully applying for and managing a large number of FVO grants as FVO treasurer for the last 5 years and working out (and convincing the rest of us) as to how our club can sustain fund a Club Development Officer post at 2 days per week. Andy has also recently completed a grade C controllers course which will benefit not only the club but the SOA at large as well.

Geoffrey Hensman for printing cost-effectively for large numbers of FVO local events and activities, often at very short notice, and recycling paper from unused maps where he can.

….and last but not least, Will Hensman – for taking the lead on SI at Scottish Middle and Long championships with live results on the FVO website, training up the next SI gurus in FVO in the process. Will has also recently attended both a Coaching Foundation and Level 1 coaching course to which he contributed effusively, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with everyone on the course.
